How to submit a notice of infringement
To be effective under the DMCA, your notice must be a written communication to the agent above that includes:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works at one site are covered).
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it (URL is best).
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you: address, telephone number, email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
On receipt of a valid notice we will expeditiously remove or disable access to the material claimed to be infringing and notify the user who posted it, if applicable.
Counter-notification
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notification to the DMCA agent above. It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your judicial district (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
Repeat infringers
We terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion.
About Roast Station content
Most original content on roaststation.com — articles, illustrations generated by our pipeline, the brand assets — is owned by Roaststation LLC. Where we reference real news events, we link to the source publication and use only what fair use permits to establish the satirical premise. If you believe we've misjudged that line for a specific piece, the notice procedure above is the right channel.
